Best horror movies

decided to compile a list of films that have inspired or have possibly been inspired by, or at least have similar atmosphere, to the psychological horror game series Silent Hill. some of those connections are directly stated by staff members while others may be more ambiguous; Jacob's Ladder, Twin Peaks, and the works of Steven King being the most obvious.if you're interested in playing the series I can only recommend Silent Hill 1-4 and Shattered Memories (a radical reinterpretation of the first game). otherwise pretty much every other game ranges from middling to downright terrible.
